Product Description:

The S77202-PNF2-F2 is a drive in Kollmorgen’s S700 Servo Drives series. As an AC servo drive, it converts three-phase mains power into precisely controlled motor phase currents and exchanges high-speed feedback with the motion controller. In automated assembly lines, packaging cells, or material-handling gantries, it closes the torque, velocity, and position loops so that attached servomotors follow commanded trajectories with repeatable accuracy.

Under nominal loading, the unit supplies 72 Arms of continuous output current while accepting up to 50 kVA from a 208–480 V three-phase supply. For dynamic moves, it can deliver 140 Arms for 5 s as a short-term current reserve. The PWM bridge is refreshed every 62.5 µs by the current loop and is modulated at 8 kHz, giving tight torque control with low acoustic noise. Two analog inputs and four digital inputs allow velocity or torque references, as well as limit and enable functions, to be wired directly to the drive. This arrangement supports direct connection of common machine interlocks and reference signals without extra interface hardware. The power section is rated for 30 switching operations per hour, maintaining thermal stability when the main contactor cycles frequently.

The drive housing measures 386 mm high, 190 mm wide, and 244 mm deep and weighs 13 kg, making it suitable for panel mounting alongside filter and brake components. An internal fan is governed by the dedicated expansion card, and the brake output can source 3 A to energize an external caliper. When required, the integrated chopper can divert up to 8 kW into a 10 Ohm resistor to dissipate regenerated energy. Safe torque-off is implemented as Dual channel STO, allowing machine builders to meet Category 3 or higher stop functions without external contactors. Coated standard PCBs protect the control electronics from airborne oils and dust. This helps maintain reliable operation in cabinets where fine contamination may accumulate over time.
