Product Description:

The S70662-NAF2NA is a Kollmorgen servo drive in the S700 Servo Drives series. It converts utility power into a controlled three-phase output for precise motor regulation in packaging, printing, and assembly equipment. By combining power electronics, fieldbus interfaces, and safety circuitry in a compact housing, the unit streamlines axis control where panel space and straightforward setup are priorities. Its integrated control architecture supports coordinated torque, velocity, and position regulation when paired with a compatible motor and motion controller.

The drive delivers a continuous phase current of 6 A RMS and supports surges up to 18 A RMS for acceleration periods of up to 2 seconds. Mains input reaching 2.3 kVA is rectified onto a DC link that may rise as high as 455 VDC. The power section accepts supply voltages from 110–230 V, allowing operation on single-phase or three-phase networks without taps or jumpers. Standard printed circuit boards are fitted, and no expansion card is installed. EtherCAT and CANopen are available as onboard networks for drive configuration and cyclic data exchange. A controlled fan installed in slot 2 adjusts airflow according to the operating load, helping remove heat from the internal power components.

Thermal energy created during regenerative braking is handled by an external resistor rated at 75 W, with an internal 33 Ω element providing backup absorption. Heat dissipation reaches 60 W during rated operation and falls to 20 W when the bridge is enabled but idle. Phase commutation occurs at 8 kHz, balancing acoustic noise with switching losses in the power stage. Motion safety is implemented through a dual-channel STO input that removes torque-producing output while keeping fieldbus communication active. The housing measures 70 mm wide, 243 mm deep without connectors, and 345 mm high. The assembly weighs 4.4 kg, permitting dense installation in multi-axis control cabinets while keeping the mounting load manageable.
