The S7480A-NANA-PA servo drive belongs to the S700 Servo Drives series from Kollmorgen. It converts three-phase line power into precisely modulated current for brushless servomotors, enabling closed-loop torque, speed, and position control in production machines, packaging equipment, and material-handling axes. A coldplate base transfers heat into the mounting surface, while conformally coated circuit boards help protect the control electronics in areas where moisture or process residue may be present. This layout supports compact cabinet integration and stable thermal contact with the panel surface.

The command interface supports high-speed analog processing for responsive control. A differential input digitizes reference signals in 1.25 mV steps, and those values are refreshed every 62.5 µs so the velocity loop can respond quickly to changing commands. When feedback to a master controller is required, the D/A channel transmits voltage in 0.38 mV increments. The power section can deliver 96 Arms during acceleration and hold 48 Arms continuously, while an internal modulator switches at 8 kHz to reduce motor ripple. EtherCAT and CANopen are available on the base hardware, and the drive also includes a brake resistor path plus dual-channel STO for torque-off safety.

In service, the unit can draw up to 35 kVA from supplies between 208...480 V, allowing the same model to operate across both lower- and higher-voltage plant systems. The housing measures 190 mm wide, 244 mm deep, and 386 mm high, and the drive has a mass of 10.4 kg for installation handling. A coldplate flatness requirement of 25 µm per 100 mm helps maintain even contact with the cabinet heat sink. Coated PCBs add resistance to condensing humidity, and the onboard brake channel works alongside STO logic for applications that require controlled motion shutdown.
