The S74801-NA-024 is a Kollmorgen servo drive in the S700 Servo Drives series. It is intended to control closed-loop speed and torque for synchronous or asynchronous motors used in automated machinery and handling cells. By combining line-side power conversion with axis-specific current control, the unit provides the fast response needed for accurate motion in industrial automation. That operating role makes it suitable for axes that require stable torque at low speed and repeatable response during acceleration and deceleration.

This model operates on a three-phase supply from 208 to 480 V. Under nominal conditions, it supplies a continuous phase current of 48 Arms, while short-term demand can rise to a peak of 96 Arms. The drive can feed loads of up to 35 kVA from the mains, and its internal brake chopper supports a continuous brake power of 8 kW. Control electronics draw 2 A, and the form factor current ratio is 1.01, which indicates little difference between RMS and average values. Single-channel STO is built in so motion can be disabled without removing mains power, and a 15 Ω external brake resistor can be connected for additional energy dissipation. Thermal dissipation reaches 635 W at 400 V line input, so cabinet airflow must account for the resulting heat load.

The housing is 190 mm wide and 285 mm deep. It meets IP20 for finger protection and is permitted to operate at ambient temperatures up to 40 °C with relative humidity as high as 85 percent; the design is also suited to pollution level 2. EtherCAT and CANopen are provided on board, so no expansion card is needed for those network interfaces. Built-in communication support simplifies connection to compatible motion control systems and related automation equipment. The unit is assembled with standard PCBs and follows Kollmorgen's standard hardware option set.
