S7480A-EIF2-PA is a robust and reliable digital servo amplifier. It is a product of Kollmorgen. The amplifier belongs to the S700 product range. S700 units have a modular design with three slots for expansion cards. Operators can include required expansion cards in the equipment order. Operators can also order expansion cards separately and install them on the unit. However, some cards can only be installed at the factory. Three expansion cards are installed on the S7480A-EIF2-PA unit. Slot 1 on the unit is occupied by an expansion I/O card. This expansion card provides an additional 14 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. The functions of the inputs and outputs are configurable with the setup software. The 24 Volts DC supply voltage must be supplied by an electrically isolated power supply. Slot 2 on the S7480A-EIF2-PA unit is occupied by a fan control card.
This card manages the speed and operation of the internal cooling fan. It is used to control noise emissions of the internal fan.
