S7480A-DNF2-S3 is a high-performance servo amplifier from Kollmorgen. It is designed for industrial applications involving servo motors. The amplifier supports multiple feedback evaluation methods, allowing its use with different Kollmorgen industrial motors. Dual-channel safe torque off is a standard feature on S700 series amplifier. It helps prevent accidents caused by accidental or unintentional motor shaft rotation. S700 amplifiers support a wide input range, from 208 to 480 Volts AC. Three-phase input is a requirement for operation with connected load. Single-phase AC input is permitted during amplifier configuration and setup. Direct connection to the AC mains is permitted as long as the mains is grounded. A safety device, such as an isolation transformer, must be used when connecting the unit to and ungrounded AC supply. Configuration options include keypad on the front of the unit and computer-based setup software.
The amplifier is equipped with a RS-232 interface for computer communication. The amplifier is also equipped with Ethernet and CANopen interfaces. Ethernet enables amplifier connectivity with SynqNet and EtherCAT industrial networks. Nominal output rating of the S7480A-DNF2-S3 amplifier is 48 Amps rms and the maximum current output is 96 Amps rms. The amplifier delivers rated output when connected to AC mains at rated input voltage. Operation with rated values is also dependent on ambient conditions. The S7480A-DNF2-S3 amplifier is equipped with three expansion cards, including a DeviceNet card, a fan control card and a safety card. The unit has an IP20 rated housing and is designed for vertical mounting inside a switchgear cabinet.
