The S7720A-EIF2-PA is an S700 Servo Drive module produced by Kollmorgen for closed-loop control of synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery. As a member of the S700 Servo Drives series, it interfaces between a plant’s AC mains and a servo motor, regulating torque, speed, and position with pulse-width-modulated output. Within an automation cell, it supplies the commanded current to actuators while monitoring safety signals, making it suitable for packaging lines, robotics, and material-handling axes that demand fast cycle changes and integrated safety.

Electrically, the drive operates over a mains window of 208 to 480 V and is designed to deliver a continuous phase current of 72 Arms. A line supply of up to 50 kVA can be accepted, while the residual voltage drop across the power stage stays limited to 6 V, helping the controller maintain dynamic voltage support to the motor. The switching devices work at an output stage frequency of 8 kHz, enabling precise current regulation even with a minimum motor inductance of 0.51 mH.
