S74802-NAF2-PM is a S700 series digital amplifier from Kollmorgen. It is designed for motor control applications. S700 servo amplifiers are only intended for use with specific brushless synchronous servomotors, with feedback-based control of torque, speed, and position. The amplifier has three slots for optional hardware modules. The first slot on the unit is unoccupied. The second slot features a fan control module. This module can only be installed at the factory, and must be included in the order for the amplifier. The third slot features a position I/O module. A three-character LED display is available on the front on the amplifier. This display comes on after switching on the 24 Volts supply and indicates the status of the amplifier. With the keys on the front panel, the display shows the parameter and function numbers, and the numbers for any active errors and warnings. The amplifier has a wide input rating ranging from 208 to 480 Volts AC at 50/60 Hertz line frequency. Input power of 35 kVA is required for continuous operation. The amplifier supports integrated CANopen and EtherCat communication interfaces. One RS-232 serial interface is also available. A memory card slot is also available on the unit. Integrated support for Safe Torque Off is available for both motor axes. Surface of the S74802-NAF2-PM drive can get very hot during operation. The housing of the unit can reach temperatures above 80 degrees Celsius. There is a serious risk of minor burns. Therefore, operators must always wait until the housing has cooled below 40 degrees Celsius before working on it. The drive must be safely earthed to the protective earth busbar. Personal protection can not be guaranteed without low-resistance earthing.
