The S7720A-PNF2-PA is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen and assigned to the S700 Servo Drives series. It interfaces between a plant controller and a synchronous motor, providing regulated current and voltage so the motion axis follows command profiles with minimal error. Dual RJ45 PROFINET ports support decentralized control and allow the drive to sit directly within networked machine architectures. An integrated fan controller keeps the power stage within temperature limits during continuous operation and helps maintain stable output during repeated duty cycles.

This drive operates on a line supply of 208 to 480 V and delivers a rated phase current of 72 Arms. For rapid acceleration, it can supply up to 140 Arms for 5 s, and the DC bus and IGBTs support a continuous input power of 50 kVA. The analog command interface presents 20 kΩ input resistance and returns feedback in the ±10 V range with 0.38 mV resolution, supporting precise torque or velocity loops. Functional safety is implemented through a dual-channel STO circuit that removes energy from the motor in less than one millisecond when requested. The aluminum housing measures 386 mm in height and 190 mm in width, and it has a mass of 13 kg. All wiring exits the front panel, which simplifies cable access inside the cabinet. The cold-plate design also supports thermal coupling to liquid-cooled panels when higher ambient temperatures are expected.
