The S7480F-PBF2-NA is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the S700 Servo Drives series. The unit accepts three-phase mains and delivers controlled three-phase output to synchronous or induction servomotors, making it a central motion element inside automated assembly lines, test stands, and conveyor systems. It converts input energy, monitors faults, and provides safe torque off so that motion axes can be started, stopped, and held precisely during production.

It operates from a supply window of 208–480 V, allowing connection to common three-phase plant power. Under continuous duty, the power stage supplies 48 Arms, while transient demands can reach 96 Arms for up to 5 seconds, which accommodates acceleration peaks without thermal overload. Internally, the insulated-gate power stage switches at 8 kHz, balancing current ripple and heat dissipation, and the input side can draw up to 35 kVA at this rating. Motion safety is addressed through integrated dual-channel STO, which removes gate signals when both channels concur and eliminates residual torque at the motor. A 15 Ω external brake resistor can be wired to dissipate regenerated energy, and the fan-controller expansion card supervises cooling airflow. The drive can execute up to 30 switching cycles per hour without exceeding component stress, and noise emission is limited to 62 dB(A) at full load.

The mechanical envelope is compact, with a depth of 244 mm, a width of 190 mm, and a height of 386 mm, so the unit fits standard 400 mm control cabinet frames with clearance for cable bends.
