The S77202-NAF2-PA is a Kollmorgen servo amplifier in the S700 Servo Drives series. Within an automation cell, it links the plant's AC mains to a matched permanent-magnet motor and regulates speed, torque, and position in real time so the mechanical axis follows motion commands from a PLC or motion controller. By integrating drive and safety functions in one enclosure, the unit reduces panel space and simplifies wiring in packaging lines, pick-and-place gantries, and similar high-throughput equipment.

The power section accepts line voltages from 208 to 480 V and can draw up to 50 kVA when the application demands full dynamic output. Continuous motor current is limited to 72 Arms, while short bursts can reach 140 Arms for 5 s to overcome acceleration peaks. An inverter carrier set at 8 kHz lowers current ripple and improves acoustic behavior. Thermal losses are 24 W at standby, and a factory-installed fan controller card energizes the heat-sink blower when its fins reach 80 °C or when internal air reaches 65 °C. Standard PCBs resist industrial humidity, and the housing dimensions of 190 mm width by 386 mm height fit common 600 mm deep cabinets. Peak output is available only for the programmed interval, which helps limit stress on conductors and upstream protection devices.

Control interfaces include a ±10 V analog command channel, a 20 kΩ input impedance, a matching ±10 V monitor output, and a resolution of 0.38 mV so small signal changes are reproduced accurately by the attached controller. Motion disabling is handled by the integrated dual-channel STO circuit, which meets contemporary safety architectures without external relays. Cabinet layout is also helped by a mass of 13 kg and a depth of 244 mm measured without connectors, leaving clearance for field wiring. When the fan card is inactive, the unit dissipates only quiescent heat while maintaining analog control performance.
