Product Description:
S7480A-SEF2-PM is a digital servo amplifier. It is produced by Kollmorgen. S700 series amplifiers support dual channel safe torque off. This is a safety feature designed to prevent accidental motor shaft rotation. The package containing the S700 amplifier also contains a printed product safety guide, online documentation and configuration software on DC and some mating connectors. These amplifiers support a wide input range of 208 to 480 Volts AC. Three expansion slots on the amplifiers allow installation of three expansion cards. Some expansion cards can only be installed at the factory, while others can be ordered separately and installed in the field. The S7480A-SEF2-PM amplifier has three installed expansions cards. Expansion card slot 1 is equipped with a SERCOS 2 card. SERCOS is a standard for high-speed serial communication.
Expansion card slot 2 is equipped with a fan control card. S700 amplifiers feature a built-in cooling fan. The fan control card is used to reduce noise emissions of the cooling fan. The card does this by changing the speed of the fan or by turning it on and off. Defined temperature thresholds determine the fan speed and whether it is turned on or turned off. Expansion card slot 3 on the amplifier is equipped with a position I/O card. This expansion card provides an additional connector with high-speed, bidirectional and digital 5 Volts inputs and outputs. The configuration software can be used to preset various input and output functions, such as position encoder emulation (ROD/SSI compatible) input for high-speed 5 Volts RS-485 signals (electronic gearing, master-slave operation). Rated output of the S7480A-SEF2-PM amplifier is 48 Amps rms and the peak current output is 96 Amps rms.
