Product Description:

The S77202-SEF2-F2 is a servo drive from Kollmorgen’s S700 Servo Drives series. It is used in industrial automation to regulate torque, speed, and position of synchronous motors while interfacing directly with higher-level motion controllers. The unit accepts three-phase AC power and communicates through a SERCOS II fieldbus link, allowing deterministic cycle times inside multi-axis machines such as packaging, indexing, and material-handling systems. Dual-channel STO circuitry is integrated so machinery can remove motor power without shutting down the control system, which helps separate safe torque shutdown from the control electronics during machine stops.

The drive handles a line voltage range of 208…480 V and is rated to deliver 50 kVA of input power from that source. Continuous motor current is limited to 72 Arms, while short bursts reach 140 Arms for up to 5 s before output returns to its nominal operating limit. A switching frequency of 8 kHz permits fine current modulation with reduced audible noise. An external 10 Ω brake resistor can absorb 8 kW when DC-bus voltage rises during rapid deceleration. The fan controller expansion card energizes cooling fans once the internal heat sink reaches 65 °C, and the unit is limited to 30 switch-on and switch-off operations per hour. Standard PCBs are fitted to the base model.

The housing is sized for compact cabinet layouts, with a depth of 244 mm, a height of 386 mm, and a width of 190 mm. Its mass is 13 kg, which keeps the assembly manageable for panel mounting and allows it to fit typical backplate structures used in drive cabinets. External braking hardware mounts directly to the housing, which helps keep wiring short and places heat-generating braking components close to the drive. Three-phase terminals are placed beside the SERCOS II fiber connectors, and the enclosure vents are positioned to support the fan-assisted airflow path. Cabinet layout should allow clear space around the unit for wiring access and ventilation.
