The S70102-NANA belongs to the S700 Servo Drives series produced by Kollmorgen. It is a three-phase amplifier that interfaces between the plant’s AC mains and a matched synchronous or induction motor, executing position, velocity, and torque commands from the automation controller. By integrating EtherCAT and CANopen communication directly on the base hardware, the unit supports deterministic fieldbus traffic without requiring optional plug-in cards, making it suitable for centralized or distributed motion platforms in packaging, printing, or material-handling lines.

This drive accepts a mains window of 208...480 V and rectifies it into a DC bus that can rise to 900 VDC under regeneration, with an over-voltage trip set to 800 V for protection. The continuous output is rated at 1.5 Arms, while transient loads can be supplied with 4.5 Arms for two seconds to start inertial axes. A 33 Ω internal brake resistor handles regenerated energy; its continuous capacity is 50 W and the short-term pulse rating reaches 15 kW at 400 V, preventing bus surges during rapid deceleration. A minimum motor inductance of 14.8 mH is required to maintain current ripple within design limits when the power stage switches at 8 kHz.
