The S70601-SENA-NA-0X9 is a Kollmorgen servo drive from the S700 Servo Drives series. In a multi-axis machine, it serves as the power stage that converts the rectified DC link into precisely timed PWM phases so a matched motor can follow motion commands from a PLC or motion controller. By combining DC bus power management with onboard fieldbus connectivity, the unit provides the link between the control system and the electromechanical axis it drives. This arrangement supports coordinated motion on automated equipment that requires accurate torque, speed, and position control.
The drive operates from a DC link range of 290–675 VDC, allowing it to work with rectified three-phase mains in a wide range of installations. At its nominal operating point, it draws 4.5 kVA and delivers a continuous phase current of 6 Arms. For rapid acceleration, it can supply up to 18 Arms for two seconds, while a separate 12 Arms limit is available for five-second overloads. The pulse-width modulation stage switches at 8 kHz, which balances current ripple with thermal losses. Full-load heat dissipation is 100 W, so cabinet ventilation must remove that heat, and the DC bus can be fed through an external rectifier or active front end so the same hardware can be used on different three-phase supply classes.
The drive has 2 high-speed 12-bit analog channels that accept velocity or torque references. It also provides 4 opto-isolated digital inputs for homing or inhibit functions. The enclosure has an IP20 protection rating, so the unit is intended for installation inside a control cabinet. Power terminals accept 208–480 V, and a 24 VDC auxiliary supply keeps the EtherCAT and CANopen interfaces active for diagnostics when the mains supply is isolated. That auxiliary rail supplies 1 A in standby or 3 A with the control logic active. Single-channel STO supports basic functional safety, and standard PCBs are used because no application-specific expansion card is installed.
