The S77202-NANA-S3 is a digital servo drive produced by Kollmorgen as part of the S700 Servo Drives series. It converts three-phase mains power into controlled motor current so that automated packaging lines, robotics cells, and precision machine tools can execute position, speed, and torque profiles in real time. EtherCAT and CANopen ports are built directly onto the baseboard, eliminating the need for an expansion card, and the unit is shipped with standard PCBs that match the series layout.

Panel planning is simplified by a width of 190 mm, a depth of 285 mm with connectors, and a height of 386 mm without them. The drive accepts a three-phase input of 208–480 V; within this band it delivers a continuous output of 72 Arms and can surge to 140 Arms for short acceleration intervals. The IGBT bridge is modulated at 8 kHz, producing a sinusoidal current waveform with an output form factor of 1.01. Heat rejection at 400 V reaches 1005 W, and the power section can draw up to 50 kVA from the mains at full load. A dual-channel STO circuit removes gate drive to the power semiconductors during an emergency stop, allowing designers to meet SIL targets without external contactors.

The drive weighs 13 kg, aiding cabinet installation while providing thermal mass for brief supply disturbances. Voltage edges at 480 V rise at 4.8 kV/µs, so shielded motor cables and proper grounding are required. Kollmorgen recommends motors with inductance not lower than 0.61 mH to maintain current-loop stability under this dv/dt. In standby the electronics dissipate 24 W, and the residual DC-link voltage is limited to 6 V for safe servicing. Acoustic emission is capped at 68 dB(A), the Slot 3 Safety 1-2 board can be fitted without changing the enclosure size, and the unit’s standard PCB build resists environmental stress in typical factory settings.
