S74802-FBF2-PA is a digital servo amplifier. It is designed specifically for motor control in industrial applications. The amplifier is manufactured by Kollmorgen and is part of the S700 series. S700 series amplifiers are designed for complex drive tasks. They support several integrated features. Additional features can be added via expansion cards. Standard S700 amplifier features include wide input voltage range, onboard Ethernet for SynqNet and EtherCAT, optional memory card for firmware and parameter backup, and safe torque off. Each S700 unit has three slots for expansion cards. Operators can either include expansion cards in the equipment order or install expansion cards in the field. The S74802-FBF2-PA is an amplifier unit with three pre-installed expansion cards. The first one in slot 1 is a feedback extension card. This expansion card enables simultaneous connection of a digital primary and analog secondary feedback to the X1 connector. The supply of a 24 Volts DC auxiliary voltage to the X33 connector is converted by the extension card to a 5 Volts DC encoder supply for secondary feedback. The second expansion card installed on the S74802-FBF2-PA is a fan control card used to reduce noise emission of the integrated cooling fan. The third expansion card installed on the unit is a position I/O monitor card. Input voltage range for the S74802-FBF2-PA is 208 to 480 Volts AC. Rated output across the input voltage range is 48 Amps. Rated output is only possible when the site elevation is between 0 and 1000 meters and when the ambient temperature is between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius. Output of the amplifier derates beyond these specified limits. With an IP20 rated housing, the S74802-FBF2-PA must be mounted inside a switchgear cabinet.
