Product Description:

The S70602-NAPMNA servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen as part of the S700 Servo Drives series. Designed for axis control in packaging machines, material-handling lines, and similar equipment, the unit rectifies the three-phase supply and generates a high-bandwidth PWM output that commands permanent-magnet or induction motors. Integrated EtherCAT and CANopen ports remove the need for add-on communication cards, so the drive can be mounted and networked with minimal wiring inside an automation cabinet.

The wide input range of 208 to 480 V allows the drive to operate with both low-voltage and standard industrial mains. At nominal load, the power stage supplies 6 A RMS of continuous motor current and draws up to 4.5 kVA from the line, while rated power dissipation is limited to 100 W. For safe torque-off applications, a dual-channel STO circuit disconnects the gate signals so motor torque falls to zero without external contactors. The inverter switches at 8 kHz, producing a smooth current waveform when the connected motor has at least 3.7 mH of inductance at 400 V. Regenerative energy produced during deceleration is absorbed by a built-in brake resistor rated for 75 W, preventing DC-bus overvoltage with light inertial loads. Standard printed circuit boards are installed for general operating conditions.

The housing is only 70 mm wide, 243 mm deep, and 345 mm high, allowing it to occupy a single column in many IEC enclosures. Despite its metal body and integrated power components, the unit has a mass of 4.4 kg, which reduces the load placed on the mounting structure. The X5 digital I/O connector supports wiring runs up to 100 m while maintaining a bandwidth of 1.5 MHz at a 5 V logic level. The bus can address as many as 16 slave drives for distributed sensing tasks. Heat exits through the top of the chassis, and the ventilation path supports continuous operation at the stated switching frequency and load.
