The S74802-2CF2-PA is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the S700 Servo Drives series. This unit converts three-phase mains power into controlled motor currents so that servo axes in packaging machines, printing lines, and robotics can follow precise speed and torque commands. Integrated dual-channel Safe Torque Off (STO) makes the drive suitable for systems that require functional safety without external contactors.

The drive accepts a line voltage range of 208 to 480 V and uses an internal IGBT bridge switching at 8 kHz to synthesize a sinusoidal output. It supplies a continuous phase current of 48 Arms, and it can sustain bursts up to 96 Arms during acceleration events. Up to 8 kW of braking energy can be dissipated through the internal chopper, while residual conduction losses remain limited to 6 V across the bridge. The minimum permissible motor inductance is 0.74 mH at 400 V, which helps prevent overcurrent when small-frame motors are attached. When lower electromagnetic stress is needed, the controller can switch to a reduced-current modulation at 16 kHz, which also lowers audible noise. Thermal dissipation reaches 635 W during continuous operation at 400 V, so adequate forced air or cold-plate mounting is required. A terminal on the front panel accepts a 15 ohm brake resistor, enabling rapid stops while sparing the internal components. Even with the integrated fan controller, the assembly weighs only 13 kg. Its footprint is 190 mm wide, 285 mm deep, and 505 mm high, which fits standard industrial enclosures and leaves room for cable routing at the connectors.
