Product Description:
S74802-2CF2-S3 is a digital servo amplifier. It is designed and produced by Kollmorgen. The amplifier supports several integrated features, including three expansion slots, Ethernet for SynqNet and CANopen, resolver and encoder feedback, RS-232 interface for PC interfacing, memory card slot, and safe torque off for safety. Expansion slots allow installation of optional modules for added functionality. All three expansion slots on the S74802-2CF2-S3 amplifier are occupied by factory installed modules. Slots 1 is occupied by a 2CAN module, slot 2 by a fan control module and slot 3 by a safety module. The 2CAN connector on the amplifier is assigned to the RS-232 interface and the CAN interface. With this standard arrangement a special cable is required to use both these interfaces simultaneously. The 2CAN expansion module provides separate interfaces on separate connectors. The two CAN connectors are wired in parallel. A CAN bus termination resistor can be switched into circuit if the servo amplifier is at the end of the bus. The fan control card allows variation of the internal fan speed depending on ambient and heat sink temperature. It can also switch the fan on an off depending on ambient and heat sink temperature. The fan control card is used in applications where reducing noise emissions of the internal fan is required. Input voltage range for the S74802-2CF2-S3 amplifier is 208 to 480 Volts AC. Under ideal operating conditions, the unit can deliver 48 Amps rms output. Under higher load conditions, the unit can deliver 96 Amps for 5 seconds. Weight of the amplifier is 13 kilograms and it comes in an IP20 rated housing. For better environmental protection, Kollmorgen recommends installation inside a switchgear cabinet.
