Product Description:
S74802-NAF2-S3 is a Kollmorgen S700 series digital amplifier. It is used for closed loop control of industrial motors. The amplifier supports multiple motor feedback methods including resolver, encoder, AquadB encoder, and ComCoder. The shipment from the manufacturer contains the amplifier, a safety guide, online documentation, setup software on CD, and some mating connectors. Additional accessories, such as cables and brake resistor, are available for separate ordering. The amplifier has a modular design. Operators can either order pre-installed expansion cards or order expansion cards separately and install them in the field. The S74802-NAF2-S3 comes with two pre-installed expansion cards: a fan control card and a SIL-2/SIL-3 safety card. The fan control card’s purpose is to reduce noise emissions caused by the onboard cooling fan. It does this by reducing the speed of the fan to 50% of its maximum speed. The card also switches the fan on and off depending upon cooling requirements. The fan is switched off when the ambient temperature is less than 55 degrees Celsius, run at 50% speed when the temperature is close to 58 degrees Celsius, and run at 100% speed when the ambient temperature is more than 65 degrees Celsius. The fan is switched off when the heat sink temperature is less than 58 degrees Celsius, run at 50% speed when the heat sink temperature is close to 68 degrees Celsius, and run at 100% speed when the heat sink temperature is more than 80 degrees Celsius. The S74802-NAF2-S3 amplifier requires 35 kVA input power for continuous operation. Its rated output is 48 Amps and the input voltage range is 208 to 480 Volts AC. Professional installation and operation by trained personnel is necessary for safe and reliable operation.
