As a closed-loop power stage, it receives commanded torque or velocity data from a motion controller and modulates three-phase current to a matched servo motor, enabling precise axis control in packaging, printing, and material-handling lines. The unit is designed for cabinet installation in systems that rely on electronic safety functions and high-speed fieldbus connectivity.

The power section operates on a three-phase supply of 208...480 V and is designed for a rated input demand of 50 kVA. Under continuous load, the drive delivers 72 Arms, while acceleration bursts can reach 140 Arms for up to 5 seconds, providing headroom before fold-back occurs. Pulse-width modulation is performed at a switching frequency of 8 kHz, balancing acoustic performance with motor ripple. Thermal output rises to 1135 W when the DC bus is fully utilized at 480 V and drops to 24 W during idle states. A factory-mounted cold plate transfers this heat to a liquid or chassis cooler, and an optional fan controller card provides additional airflow management. Dual-channel STO circuitry removes drive power without opening the main contactor, supporting safe shutdown during service.

An AC supply fuse rated at 80 A protects upstream wiring, and the drive housing has an IP20 rating for protected control cabinets. Two differential analog inputs with 16-bit resolution can feed torque or speed commands directly from PLC analog outputs. For digital motion networks, the built-in PROFINET interface offers 100BaseTX communication through dual RJ45 ports, while the Posi/O bus handles up to 16 distributed slaves at a 5 V signal level for decentralized limit switches or probes.
