The S74802-SNF2-PM is a drive manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the S700 Servo Drives series. Designed to regulate torque, speed, and position of brushless servomotors, the unit sits between the plant supply and the machine axis, converting fixed-frequency mains into high-bandwidth PWM output. In automated cells, it coordinates motion commands issued by higher-level PLCs, enabling synchronized moves, quick acceleration, and controlled stopping.

During continuous duty, the drive supplies a rated output of 48 Arms, letting medium-frame motors sustain nominal torque without overheating. For rapid indexing, its current ceiling rises to 96 Arms, supporting short bursts of extra torque. The input section accepts mains from 208…480 V, so the same hardware can operate on common North American and European supply systems. At that level, it can draw up to 35 kVA, which helps size the feeder and protective devices. Internal IGBTs switch at 8 kHz, providing fast current regulation while keeping switching losses and conducted noise low.
