S74802-SNF2-PM is a digital servo amplifier. It is manufactured by Kollmorgen. The amplifier is part of the S700 series of amplifier. S700 amplifiers include integrated RS-232, CANopen and EtherCat communication interfaces. Other communication interfaces can be added via expansion cards. The S74802-SNF2-PM is an amplifier with three expansion slots. The first slot on the unit is equipped with a SYNQNET card. SYNQNET is a protocol specifically designed for high performance automation networks. It provides real-time synchronous communication between drives, motors, I/O modules and custom devices. SYNQNET supports up to 32 nodes and up to 48 kilohertz network bandwidth. The network uses ring topology which is fault tolerance and self-healing. The drive firmware can be remotely upgraded over SYNQNET. The second slot on the S74802-SNF2-PM amplifier is equipped with a fan control module. This module can not be installed in the field. The purpose of this card is to reduce the noise emission of the amplifier. When this card is installed, the fan runs at 50% of rated speed and is switched on and off to reduce noise emission. The third slot on the S74802-SNF2-PM amplifier is equipped with a position I/O card. This card provides an additional SubD connector with high-speed and bidirectional 5 Volt inputs and outputs. The configuration software can be used to preset different input and output functions, such as position encoder emulation or input for high-speed 5 Volts RS-485 signals. Input voltage rating of the amplifier is 208 to 480 Volts AC (three-phase). The rated and maximum current outputs are 48 Amps and 96 Amps respectively. Protection rating of the amplifier housing is IP20. It is designed for vertical mounting in a switchgear cabinet.
