The S77202-PBF2-PM is a three-phase AC servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and assigned to the S700 Servo Drives series. It is intended for industrial automation tasks where closed-loop torque, velocity, and position control must be integrated into machinery such as pick-and-place stations, gantry axes, or conveyor modules. The drive processes line power and fieldbus commands to supply regulated current to a matched motor, forming the actuator layer of a multi-axis motion system.

With a line window of 208 to 480 V, the unit accepts common plant mains and supplies a continuous output of 72 Arms; during acceleration it can deliver 140 Arms. Internal components are sized for 50 kVA of input power. Control electronics draw from a separate 24 V DC auxiliary rail that may carry up to 5 A, keeping logic independent of the high-energy bus. Two base analog inputs, four base digital inputs, and two digital I/O points connect local sensors or relays. Slot 1 carries a PROFIBUS-DP interface that is accessed through two 9-pin Sub-D ports, enabling network daisy-chaining. Slot 3 is populated with a PosI/O board that uses 5 V signal levels for position latching. An onboard fan-controller card modulates cooling airflow, and the power section is built on standard PCBs.

The enclosure measures 505 mm in height, 190 mm in width, and 285 mm in depth when connectors are fitted, so the drive fits in standard 600 mm cabinets with room for ventilation from the managed fan. The PosI/O module provides deterministic capture of encoder or marker pulses, complementing base I/O without occupying additional cabinet space. Safety is addressed through a dual-channel STO function that removes torque-producing energy through redundant hardware paths when an emergency stop is asserted. An additional expansion space is available for an option card if required.
