The S70602-NANAS2 is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the S700 Servo Drives series. It converts three-phase line power into a regulated DC link and finely switched output phases for brushless servomotors, enabling high-resolution speed and position control in automated machinery. EtherCAT and CANopen communication ports are included in the base hardware, so no additional expansion card is required. The device provides drive control and a safety interface for packaging, material-forming, and robotics equipment.

The power stage supplies up to 6 Arms of continuous motor current while drawing as much as 4.5 kVA from the mains. Its input range of 208 to 480 V accommodates low- and high-voltage industrial power systems. The IGBTs switch at 8 kHz, helping to keep current ripple and acoustic noise low. The dual-channel STO circuit meets performance level e requirements for disabling torque when a hazard is detected. Minimum motor inductance is 4.4 mH at 480 V, so windings below that value may require external reactors. Standard printed circuit boards manage the rapid voltage changes produced during operation.

The thermal design includes an internal brake resistor of 33 Ω that can dissipate peaks up to 1.3 kW at 400 V. Continuous regeneration is handled by an external element rated at 75 W. With the drive disabled, intrinsic losses drop to 20 W, while the electronics release 100 W of heat at the rated workload. Panel ventilation must remove this heat to maintain the appropriate operating temperature. The enclosure measures 70 mm wide, 345 mm high, and 243 mm deep without connectors, and it weighs 4.4 kg, allowing installation in densely populated cabinets. During high-speed switching, the output edges reach a dv/dt of 6.9 kV/µs, requiring shielded motor cables and compatible insulation systems. Standard printed circuit boards are used throughout to support reliable operation under vibration.
