Product Description:

The S74802-DNF2-PM is a closed-loop servo drive produced by Kollmorgen and assigned to the S700 Servo Drives series. It is intended to energize brushless servomotors, translate motion commands from a controller, and return precise feedback so automated conveyors, pick-and-place gantries, and similar systems hold commanded trajectories. Integrated fieldbus options support networked control, and the hardware platform accepts expansion cards for application-specific functions. Software tools are available for setup, giving the drive a practical interface between the plant control network and the motor windings.

Its mechanical envelope measures 386 mm in height, 244 mm in depth, and 190 mm in width, which fits standard control enclosures while leaving clearance for airflow. The aluminum chassis is designed for a mains range of 208 to 480 V and delivers a continuous output current of 48 A rms. For acceleration bursts lasting up to five seconds, the drive can reach 96 A rms, while a residual voltage drop of 6 V across the output stage helps limit internal copper losses during short overloads. Two programmable analog channels and four programmable digital channels allow feedback scaling, mode selection, and interlock functions, and the assembly uses standard PCBs.

The electrical front end accepts a three-phase AC supply, and safety is provided by a dual-channel STO circuit that removes gate signals to the IGBTs without requiring external contactors. At idle, the drive dissipates only 24 W of heat, which helps reduce cabinet cooling demand during low-load operation. With a mass of 13 kg, the unit remains suitable for cabinet mounting without requiring an oversized support structure. These characteristics make the drive appropriate for coordinated motion systems that need controlled shutdown behavior and stable servo performance.
