Product Description:
The S71202-NANANA-NA servo drive is built by Kollmorgen within the S700 Servo Drives series. Intended for cabinet installation next to motion controllers, it converts three-phase mains power into controlled outputs for synchronous or asynchronous servomotors used on pick-and-place axes, packaging stations, and general factory automation cells. By providing closed-loop current and velocity regulation, the device forms the link between a machine’s control layer and its mechanical actuators, and it also offers fieldbus connectivity that simplifies networked drive architectures.
It accepts a three-phase supply in the range of 208–480 V, while a separate control section draws 24 VDC from the auxiliary supply for logic, fans, and relays. Under continuous duty, the inverter delivers 12 Arms and can rise to 24 Arms for five seconds to accommodate acceleration peaks; combined with a nominal apparent power of 9 kVA, this covers mid-frame servo motors found on conveyors or gantries. The housing carries an IP20 rating, so installation inside a shielded panel is required. Safety integration is streamlined by dual-channel STO that removes torque without mechanical contactors. EtherCAT and CANopen are routed through onboard connectors, and no expansion card is fitted because these two real-time buses are already embedded.
At full load, the drive dissipates 160 W as heat and can divert regenerative energy into a built-in braking path rated at 100 W that works with the internal 33 ohm resistor. The aluminum chassis measures 70 mm wide, 285 mm deep, and 379 mm high with connectors in place, permitting high-density mounting on DIN rails or backplates. The unit weighs 4.4 kg, so it can be handled during panel installation without lifting equipment. Standard PCBs are used, and airborne noise remains at 65 dB(A) to ease compliance with shop-floor acoustic targets.
