Product Description:
The S7480-SNF2-NA is a digital servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen. This servo amplifier is designed to meet the highest standards of operational safety, it is a maintenance free device and is intended to be used with synchronous, asynchronous, and induction motor designs. This digital servo amplifier ensures that accurate control of the speed, position, and torque output of servo motors. The amplifier features a modular design and a housing unit that meets the IP20 protection class. The S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier requires installation into a closed loop control cabinet that can provide a minimum protection that meets the IP54 protection class. The servo amplifier contain electrostatically sensitive components that can be damaged by incorrect handling, operators should be properly discharged before coming in contact with the amplifier, also contact with highly insulating materials should be avoided. The rated output current generated by the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier is about 48 amperes, this output current can also reach a maximum value of 96 amperes. The servo amplifier requires a rated output voltage that falls between 208 to about 480 volts, also a rated input power of 35 kilovolts ampere is required by the amplifier for continuous operation. Electrical motors connected to this servo amplifier operate with a minimum inductance that falls between 0.38 to about 0.88 millihenry depending on the supply voltage. The S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier features a fan controller expansion card that is integrated into the amplifier before delivery. The expansion card help to reduce the noise generated by the amplifier by reducing the speed of the internal air blower depending on the temperature in the amplifier. The total weight of this amplifier is about 13 kilograms.
Frequently Asked Questions about S7480-SNF2-NA:
Q: What is the emergency stop function designed for?
A: The emergency stop function is the fastest possible way to shutdown the servo amplifier. It should be used in dagerous situation.
Q: Can the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier detect power supply failure?
A: Yes. The S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier use an integrated circuit to detect if one or more input power supply feed fail. The behaviour of the amplifier after this can be determined by the operator through the setup software.
Q: Can the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier be used to control holding brakes?
A: Holding brakes integrated into connected motors can be controlled by the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier directly. A special 24 volt supply voltage is used.
Q: What does the LED display on the S7480-SNF2-NA amplifier do?
A: The LED display is a 3-character display that is used to indicate the status of the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier after it is switched on. Errors are communicated on this display through error codes.
Q: Can the S7480-SNF2-NA servo amplifier be operate above 1000 meters?
A: The S7480-SNF2-NA can be used at an hieght as high as 2500 meters. However above 1000 meters the amplifier experience power derating.
