The S7480-SNF2-NA is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the S700 Servo Drives series. As a drive, it regulates torque, speed, and position of compatible AC servomotors in automated machinery, drawing power from a three-phase supply and returning real-time status to higher-level motion controllers through its onboard EtherCAT and CANopen interfaces. EtherCAT supports coordinated motion across multiple axes, while CANopen can be used for device-level communication within the same machine. Built-in communication also reduces panel complexity and keeps signal routing more direct between the controller and the drive.

The drive accepts mains from 208 to 480 V and delivers a continuous output of 48 Arms. Current is switched through an output stage that pulses at 8 kHz, producing a near-sinusoidal waveform with an output current form factor of 1.01. Thermal energy generated under these conditions is extracted by a controlled fan, and with the drive disabled, heat loss is limited to 24 W.
