The S7480A-2CF2-NA is a servo drive from the S700 Servo Drives series manufactured by Kollmorgen. Designed for industrial automation, the unit converts three-phase mains into precisely regulated motor currents so that rotary or linear servo motors can follow commanded positions, speeds, and torques under closed-loop control. It installs in a control cabinet and links to higher-level motion controllers to coordinate axes in packaging, material-handling, or machining equipment.

Incoming three-phase mains from 208–480 V feed the power stage, so the same drive can operate with different facility distribution voltages. The converter is rated for a continuous power throughput of 35 kVA. Under nominal loading, the current regulator supplies 48 A rms, and during acceleration or impact loads it can surge to 96 A rms. Internal conduction losses are held to a residual drop of 6 V, which improves voltage utilization at the motor terminals. The control electronics draw 2 A, and a fan-controller expansion card can supervise external blowers when the cold plate is coupled to a liquid heat exchanger. Coated circuit boards in the option package help keep contaminants away from power components, while cold-plate cooling maintains stable thermal conditions.

The housing is arranged for cold-plate mounting and measures 190 mm wide, 244 mm deep, and 386 mm high, and it adds 10.4 kg to the mounting structure. Heat is transferred directly into the machine coolant, so standby dissipation is limited to 24 W and acoustic output remains at 62 dB(A) during operation. Functional safety is provided by the dual-channel STO interface, which allows torque shutdown without external contactors. The drive may be switched on or off up to 30 times per hour, allowing frequent production cycles while staying within its thermal design limits.
