The S72401-NANANA is an AC servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen as part of the S700 Servo Drives series. It operates as the intermediate power stage between a motion controller and a synchronous motor, converting incoming three-phase mains power into controlled pulse-width-modulated output. By integrating EtherCAT and CANopen directly on the control board and operating without an expansion card, the unit simplifies network wiring in industrial automation cells while still supporting real-time fieldbus communication.

The drive accepts a line supply ranging from 208–480 V and draws a maximum of 18 kVA at full load. Under continuous operation, it can deliver 24 Arms, while a two-second surge permits up to 48 Arms for rapid acceleration. A carrier switching frequency of 8 kHz shapes the pulse pattern used to control motor current and influences acoustic output, which is rated at 65 dB(A). Motor compatibility requires a minimum inductance of 1.7 mH when the drive is used on a 480 V bus, and the single-channel STO safety input provides a safe torque off function. The housing carries an IP20 protection rating for cabinet-mount installation and measures 100 mm in width, which helps conserve panel space.
