Product Description:

The S74802-NANA-S3 is a three-phase servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen and supplied within the S700 Servo Drives series. Designed for closed-loop control of rotary or linear servomotors, the unit conditions incoming AC power, modulates it through an IGBT bridge, and outputs regulated current that follows commanded torque, speed, or position profiles in industrial automation cells. It integrates fieldbus interfaces and safety functions so machine builders can combine motion control, diagnostics, and safe torque-off in a single panel-mounted device.

Electrically, the drive accepts a mains voltage of 208–480 V and is rated for a continuous phase current of 48 Arms, allowing it to energize medium-power servomotors without derating. Its input stage can process up to 35 kVA of apparent power and switches the IGBT legs at 8 kHz to minimize current ripple. When the inverter is conducting at rated load, only 6 V of residual drop is present across the semiconductors, helping reduce heat. Dual-channel STO meets the functional safety target of SIL CL3 / PLe, providing an immediate torque-off path independent of the main controller. The logic section is supplied from an external 24 V DC feed drawing 2 A, while individual digital outputs can source up to 100 mA for contactors or indicators. EtherCAT and CANopen ports are provided on the baseboard, eliminating the need for an expansion card, and the internal assemblies use the standard PCB option for this series.

The housing stands 386 mm tall, 190 mm wide, and 244 mm deep without connectors, giving a compact footprint for cabinet layouts. Installed mass is 13 kg, which should be considered when planning cabinet mounting. Acoustic emission does not exceed 62 dB(A), keeping noise within typical plant limits. During dynamic peaks, the inverter can hold maximum current for 5 s before thermal limiting, and when the power stage is disabled, idle losses are limited to 24 W, easing enclosure cooling requirements.
