The S74802-SEF2-PA is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the S700 Servo Drives series. It forms the power-conversion link between a three-phase supply and the precision servomotors used in packaging lines, printing presses, and material-handling cells. By regulating current and voltage in real time, the unit provides position, speed, and torque control for repeatable axis motion in industrial automation. Its integrated signal interfaces connect directly to feedback devices and safety relays, allowing streamlined cabinet wiring.

At the input, the drive accepts a line range of 208…480 V and can draw up to 35 kVA under full load. Internally, it regulates a continuous phase current of 48 Arms, and an output current form factor of 1.01 keeps RMS and average values nearly identical to help limit motor heating. The pulse-width-modulated stage switches at 8 kHz, allowing smooth torque production even on high-pole-count motors. Functional safety is addressed with a dual-channel STO circuit that removes energy from the windings without opening the mains contactor. A ±10 V analog output is provided for velocity or tension reference, a 2 A auxiliary supply powers external encoders, and only 6 V of residual drop is present across the output devices. The built-in fan controller expansion card manages airflow whenever the standard PCBs are fitted, helping limit temperature rise during operation.

With connectors fitted, the housing stands 505 mm high, measures 190 mm in width, and weighs 13 kg, so it can be mounted side by side with other S700 modules. Acoustic output is limited to 62 dB(A), which helps reduce enclosure noise in operator areas. When the power stage is disabled, heat generation falls to 24 W, easing standby cooling demands. The controlled fan and slotted heat sink discharge this waste heat, and the dedicated fan controller adjusts speed in proportion to load.
