The S7480A-PBF2-NA is a digital servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the S700 Servo Drives series. Intended for cabinet-mounted axes, the drive conditions three-phase mains power and delivers configurable current to synchronous or induction motors in automated machinery. By integrating position feedback, fieldbus interfaces, and safe torque off, it serves as a central control element that regulates speed, torque, and braking energy during repetitive industrial cycles.

It accepts line voltages from 208 to 480 V and is protected on the incoming side by a 60 A AC fuse. At that supply level, the converter is rated for 35 kVA of apparent input power and can deliver a continuous armature current of 48 Arms, with transient demand supported up to 96 Arms. The carrier is clocked at 8 kHz, which sets the pulse-width modulation resolution and influences motor acoustic noise. Current shape accuracy is reflected by an output form factor of 1.01, while only 6 V of residual drop appears across the power stage. Dual-channel STO removes drive output within microseconds, and the ordered unit includes a cold-plate base, coated printed-circuit boards, and a dedicated fan-controller expansion card for closed-loop cooling.
