Product Description:

The S77202-NAF2-PM servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen within the S700 Servo Drives series. The unit converts incoming plant power to regulated motor current, enabling precise torque, velocity, and position control for coordinated axes in industrial automation lines, packaging stations, and robotic fixtures. Its architecture also includes safety, input, and auxiliary supply circuits, so the drive can act as the central link between the machine controller and the synchronous motor it energizes while reducing the need for separate interface hardware.

Designed for medium- to high-power axes, the drive accepts a mains range of 208 to 480 V on a three-phase supply and draws up to 50 kVA at full load. Under continuous duty it delivers 72 Arms, while short bursts can reach 140 Arms for up to 5 s during acceleration or sudden load changes. Current is switched through an output stage that pulses at 8 kHz, balancing acoustic noise with motor heating across a wide speed range. The integrated dynamic-brake interface supplies 3 A at 24 VDC for electromechanical holding brakes, and the feedback ports accept Posi/O encoder signals up to 1.5 MHz at 5 V. The control section also supports 30 start-stop cycles per hour without derating.

A differential analog command channel spans ±10 V, enabling velocity or torque references from external controllers and other analog signal sources. The 24 VDC auxiliary bus can source 2 A for sensors while also powering the internal fan controller expansion card and other standard printed circuit boards. Six digital inputs draw no more than 15 mA each, and two transistor outputs can switch loads up to 100 mA for relays or status lamps. Up to 16 slave drives may be linked over the SERCOS or EtherCAT network to follow a single master in synchronized multi-axis layouts. The safety layer provides dual-channel STO, removing output power when either channel is interrupted.
