The S7720A-SEF2-S4 is an AC servo drive produced by Kollmorgen and supplied within the S700 Servo Drives series. The unit regulates three-phase servomotors in automated machinery by converting incoming line power into a controlled output that matches commanded torque, speed, or position profiles. In distributed control systems, it acts as the final power stage between the motion controller and the motor, providing the real-time current, voltage, and safety functions needed for industrial automation. This arrangement supports coordinated axis motion in packaging, printing, and material-handling equipment where stable response is required during acceleration, deceleration, and holding.

It accepts three-phase mains in the 208–480 V range and internally drives its IGBTs at 8/16 kHz, allowing the application to balance audible noise and efficiency.
