The VS Smart Sensors series is a family of B&R machine-vision devices designed for one active vision task per application, such as reading, measuring, or localization.
The series uses an ARM Cortex-A9 processor platform with onboard flash memory and FPGA-based image preprocessing, and it is available with different sensor, lens, front-cover, and integrated-lighting combinations. Across the range, the devices support monochrome or color image sensors from 1.3 to 5.3 megapixels, optional line-sensor-capable variants, adjustable-focus optics or C-mount execution, and integrated LED lighting with different colors and beam characteristics. The hardware is built for industrial machine integration with IP65/IP67 protection, passive cooling, 24 VDC supply, one digital input, one digital output, and a POWERLINK interface with an integrated two-port hub for real-time network connection. The series is intended for machine-vision applications that need a compact fieldbus-integrated smart sensor with configurable optics, lighting, and image-acquisition hardware.
