The VSC122Q35.061P-000 is a smart camera produced by B&R Automation in the VS Smart Sensors series. Positioned within the integrated machine vision product range, it unites imaging, illumination, and onboard computation so automated cells can inspect parts, confirm assembly, and guide motion without an external PC. This integrated layout allows image capture and evaluation to take place in one housing, which helps simplify installation in compact automated systems.

A Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad-core processor running at 800 MHz drives image analysis, and its four execution units (4) share a 1 MB L2 cache to reduce memory latency. Vision code runs in 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, giving the device enough space for buffering and classification tasks. In the standard variant, preprocessing is handled locally. The sensor captures images at a native 5.3 MP resolution and streams up to 43 fps, allowing several vision functions to run on the same image set. A 2/3-inch F4 lens is supplied, and the optics fasten to an S-mount for compact integration. Line-sensor suitability lets the unit replace separate line-scan heads where web or sheet inspection is required.

The fixed lens provides a 16 mm focal length, and the 23° scene angle sets the field of view at typical conveyor distances. Illumination is delivered by 16 LEDs arranged in four multicolored segments, and each diode can emit R / G / B / Lime light so contrast can be tuned for different product variants. A glass front window with an anti-reflective coating protects the sensor while maximizing transmission, and a narrow-beam LED lens concentrates luminous flux on small targets. These optical elements help the camera maintain exposure control and edge clarity while the processor handles pattern recognition and dimensional checks.
