The VSC122R25.061P-000 smart camera is produced by B&R Automation within the VS Smart Sensors series. Classified in the Smart Camera product group and positioned in the integrated machine vision range, it unites image capture, lighting, and computing in one enclosure. Deployed on robotic cells and conveyor lines, it performs local inspection, code reading, and position verification so the controller receives processed results instead of raw images.

The image sensor records at 5.3 MP, and a 16 mm focal-length lens with an F4 2/3-inch format is fitted to the S-mount thread for quick interchange. A glass front window with an antireflective coating protects the optics while maintaining transmission. Processing is handled by a Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad core device clocked at 800 MHz, and its architecture provides 4 symmetric cores backed by a 1 MB L2 cache for deterministic response. The platform carries 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, allowing multiple regions of interest to be buffered during preprocessing. The camera is suitable for line-sensor applications, so it can work in either area or linear imaging modes. The standard preprocessing variant supports routine inspection tasks while maintaining balanced depth of field and cycle time.

Acquisition can reach 43 fps, supporting high-speed packaging or pick-and-place applications. Illumination is delivered by 16 LEDs arranged in four multicolored segments, and LED lens type 2 focuses the light uniformly. The emitter array can switch between R / B / IR / White to match surface contrast requirements, and it is synchronized with the shutter to minimize blur. A mechanical viewing angle of 37° sets the field size at a given working distance, allowing several vision functions to operate at the same time, including presence checks and measurement, without moving the camera. The camera is supplied in the standard variant.
