The VSS122Q25.071P-000 smart camera is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the VS Smart Sensors series. As part of the Smart Sensor product group within the integrated machine vision range, it combines optics, lighting, and onboard processing to execute a single vision task directly on the production line. The unit is intended for automated inspection or guidance stages where space is limited and decentralized processing reduces controller load. Because image capture and evaluation occur in one housing, the device can send results and status data without needing a separate external vision processor.

The imaging system uses a 5.3 MP CMOS sensor that captures a 37° horizontal field through a 25 mm focal length assembly described as an F4 2/3-inch lens. Front protection is provided by glass with an anti-reflective coating, and an LED lens type 2 optic manages the internal lighting. Multicolor R, G, B, and Lime channels illuminate the scene, and the unit is suitable for line-sensor applications. The camera can record at 43 fps, allowing motion analysis without frame drops.
