By shifting computation into the sensor head, it reduces controller workload and shortens reaction times in packaging, assembly, and material-handling lines.
At its core, a Cortex A9 i.MX6 quad-core CPU operates at 800 MHz and works with 2 GB of DDR3 memory for local image preprocessing. The rolling-shutter imager delivers 3.5 MP of resolution at 43 fps, supporting gauging, OCR, and other fast inspection routines. A fixed 16 mm F4 2/3-inch lens on an S-mount provides a moderate field of view, while a glass window with anti-reflective coating helps protect the optics from grease and dust.
Illumination comes from 16 LEDs arranged in four segments, and each segment can emit red, blue, infrared, or white light through a LED lens type 2 assembly for stable scene brightness. The imaging path spans a viewing angle of 37°, which suits common conveyor widths without requiring external optics. The standard preprocessing variant can execute several vision functions at the same time, while line-scan modes are not supported.
