The VSS112R24.M51P-000 is an integrated machine-vision smart sensor from B & R Automation’s VS Smart Sensors series. In a compact S-mount housing, it combines optics, illumination, and onboard processing to run one active vision function directly on the line. By embedding imaging, preprocessing, and decision logic inside the sensor, it supports inspection, identification, or guidance tasks on conveyors and robotic cells without needing an external PC or frame grabber.
At its core is a dual-core Cortex A9 i.MX6 processor running at 800 MHz, and the 512 kB L2 cache helps keep image handling responsive during repeated evaluations. The sensor also carries 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, giving it enough working memory to buffer full-frame images and perform multiple preprocessing steps before final analysis. An image rate of 43 fps provides timing suitable for many mid-speed packaging and assembly lines. This hardware profile supports the standard preprocessing variant used by the model.
The integrated 12 mm (macro) F4 lens is matched to a 1/1.8-inch sensor for close-range viewing. Its 3.5 MP CMOS resolution helps the unit detect small features with greater detail.
