The VSS112R31.041P-000 is a smart vision sensor manufactured by B&R Automation within the VS Smart Sensors series. As part of the Integrated machine vision range, the device combines optics, illumination, and embedded computing in one enclosure to execute a single active vision function directly on the machine. It is installed on production equipment to perform automated inspections, part identification, or position checks without external lighting or a separate industrial PC.

Its image sensor yields a native resolution of 1.3 MP, providing sufficient pixel density for small-feature evaluation. A throughput of 90 fps supports fast-moving conveyors and enables multiple captures per machine cycle. Processing is handled by a Cortex A9 i.MX6 dual core SoC clocked at 800 MHz; this platform runs the vendor's vision algorithms while reserving time for deterministic I/O tasks. The internal memory includes 1 GB of RAM to buffer images, temporary results, and communication data without stalling the pipeline.
