The VSS112T24.043P-000 is a smart vision sensor from B&R Automation’s VS Smart Sensors series. Intended for integrated machine vision, it combines optics, illumination, and processing in a sealed S-mount body. That design lets production equipment inspect, measure, or guide parts without requiring an external camera or a separate PC.
Image preprocessing runs on a Cortex A9 i.MX6 dual core processor clocked at 800 MHz. The platform provides 2 logical cores, along with 1 GB of DDR3 memory and a shared 512 kB L2 cache. This hardware gives the standard variant enough bandwidth for one active vision function while keeping cycle times predictable. Its onboard resources reduce dependence on external computing hardware in compact machine layouts during operation. Because line-sensor operation is not supported, the unit remains focused on area imaging tasks.
An integrated lens produces a field of view of 37°, which helps the sensor cover compact inspection zones without external optics. A glass diffuser preserves image quality while supporting a full resolution of 3.5 MP. The CMOS array records up to 43 fps for real-time inspection on fast conveyors.
