The VSC122R35.061P-000 smart camera is produced by B & R Automation and belongs to the VS Smart Sensors series in the integrated machine vision product range. As a self-contained vision unit, it unites optics, illumination, processing, and I/O so an automation controller can verify position, presence, or quality directly on the line. The device operates in monochrome sensor mode on a 2/3 in image plane and employs an S-mount to accept the supplied 16 mm F4 lens, giving the unit flexibility for inspection, pick-and-place, or guidance tasks.

During acquisition, the camera resolves 5.3 MP per frame and sustains 43 fps, enabling measurement of parts at a minimum object distance of 100 mm with a 23° field of view produced by the 16 mm focal length. Integrated lighting uses 16 LEDs arranged in four multicolored segments, and a narrow-beam lens concentrates red, blue, IR, or white output on the target. The front window is glass with an anti-reflective coating to preserve contrast. Internally, a quad-core processor clocks at 800 MHz and works with standard-variant preprocessing so several vision functions can run at the same time. A 24 VDC supply powers logic and lighting, and the enclosure carries a IP65/IP67 ingress rating for wet zones.

The computational platform is a Cortex A9 i.MX6 system with four cores, supported by 2 GB RAM for image buffering and 2 GB flash for nonvolatile storage. A 1 MB L2 cache reduces external memory access when edge detection, barcode reading, or blob analysis run at the same time. The camera can support both area imaging and line sensor operation, extending the range of inspection tasks handled by one unit. A locking ring helps maintain focus during machine vibration, and the optical setup supports medium-size fields with limited distortion.
