The VSS112R14.031P-000 is a smart vision sensor from the VS Smart Sensors series manufactured by B&R Automation. It combines optics, illumination, and onboard processing in one housing, so inspection tasks run locally instead of on a separate PC. Typical uses include part presence checks, orientation verification, and code reading on compact production lines with product changeovers.
Its optical section provides a field of view of 74°, captured by a 3.5 MP sensor. A fixed 6 mm focal-length lens with an F3.5 aperture is mounted in an S-mount, and the glass front element uses an anti-reflective coating to improve image clarity. Frames reach 43 fps, and illumination is supplied by 16 LEDs (4 segments with 4 multicolored LEDs each) for wide-beam lighting in R, B, IR, or white. The wide beam helps cover short working distances and uneven targets without requiring an external light assembly.
Processing is handled by a Cortex A9 i.MX6 dual core running at 800 MHz with shared cache resources.
