The VSC122R11.041P-000 is a smart camera manufactured by B & R Automation within the VS Smart Sensors series. By integrating optics, illumination, and a quad-core processor inside a compact S-mount housing, the unit performs part inspection, code reading, and presence detection directly on a production line. This design eliminates the need for an external vision controller.
The on-board Cortex A9 i.MX6 runs at 800 MHz, and its architecture captures and analyzes images without host assistance. Sensor output is delivered at a native resolution of 1.3 MP, providing sufficient detail for medium-accuracy gauging tasks. A maximum throughput of 90 fps keeps exposure times short so motion blur is minimized on high-speed conveyors. Computation is spread across 4 processing cores that are supported by 2 GB of DDR3 RAM, allowing multiple vision tools to run simultaneously while still buffering image sequences. An additional 1 MB L2 cache lowers memory latency, and the device is classified as the standard preprocessing variant in the VS Smart Sensors range.
The optical stack offers a field of view of 74° when paired with its factory-installed S-mount lens, which has a focal length of 8 mm and an aperture of F4 for the 1/1.8" sensor format. A concentric illumination ring contains 16 LEDs. Each of four segments can emit red, blue, infrared, or white, a configuration listed as R / B / IR / White. The wide-beam LED lens spreads light evenly, while front glass with an anti-reflective coating reduces specular highlights on glossy materials. Although the standard variant does not support line-sensor mode, it retains concurrent vision-function capability for tasks such as orientation checks, fill-level verification, and pick-and-place guidance in space-restricted installations.
