The VSS112Q21.03BP-000 is an integrated smart camera from B&R Automation. Designed as a self contained vision node, it combines optics, lighting, and onboard processing so machine builders can add presence checking, code reading, or gauging without an external PC. Its compact housing and Ethernet connectivity let the unit mount directly on conveyors or robot tooling where local image evaluation reduces controller load.
Inside the housing, a Cortex A9 i.MX6 dual-core processor clocks at 800 MHz and works with 1 GB of RAM plus 512 kB of L2 cache to run the standard preprocessing variant. The processing engine uses 2 symmetrical cores, allowing image acquisition and one active vision algorithm to run at the same time. A rolling-shutter imager streams at 90 fps, and each frame carries a native resolution of 1.3 MP for fast, detailed inspection in real time machine vision tasks.
The optical path is built for close range inspection. A 6 mm S-mount lens with F3.5 aperture projects a 37° field of view onto the sensor, and the front element uses an anti-reflective plastic surface to reduce glare. Illumination comes from a built-in array of 16 LEDs arranged in four segments, and it can emit red, green, blue, and lime light for flexible contrast control during presence checks, code reading, and gauging. The unit is supplied as the standard variant with mountable S-mount hardware.
