The VSC122R21.053P-000 is a smart camera from B&R Automation and belongs to the VS Smart Sensors series. This integrated device combines an S-mount lens, an onboard processor, and ring lighting so it can run machine-vision tools directly on the sensor head. In automated lines, it detects features, verifies codes, or measures positions without sending raw images to a separate controller, which reduces latency and cabinet space. That layout also keeps image evaluation close to the point of capture, which is useful for reject checking and positional verification on compact stations.

Its imaging path begins with a wide field of view of 37°, captured at a native resolution of 1.3 MP. The sensor can expose and read frames at up to 90 fps, enabling high-speed inspections on fast conveyors and other moving equipment. Image preprocessing is handled by a Cortex-A9 i.MX6 quad-core CPU running at 800 MHz. The processor has 4 cores, allowing several vision functions to run in parallel, including blob analysis and edge detection. Its 1 MB L2 cache helps maintain deterministic cycle times when multiple tools share the pipeline, and the camera is intended for area-based acquisition rather than line-sensor operation.
