The VSS112001.03BP-000 belongs to the VS Smart Sensors series from B & R Automation and is categorized as a smart sensor for integrated machine vision. Its architecture includes 512 kB of L2 cache to speed repeated memory access, while 1 GB of DDR3 RAM supports local image handling. This standard variant is intended for deterministic preprocessing, and it executes one active vision function at a time. Because it is supplied without LED lighting or an LED lens, external illumination must be provided for the selected inspection method.
The optical section uses a fixed 6 mm lens and delivers a native resolution of 1.3 MP with full-frame capture at 90 fps. The lens is secured by an S-mount, and the front window uses an anti-reflective plastic surface to reduce glare. The design is not intended for line-sensor operation, and it cannot be paired with IR lighting or a type-1 LED lens.
