The VSS112F21.M53P-000 is part of the VS Smart Sensors series from B&R Automation. It belongs to the integrated machine vision range and the Smart Sensor group. This compact unit combines imaging, illumination, and onboard processing for pallet checks, presence detection, and pick-and-place verification with one active vision function.
Processing is handled by a Cortex A9 i.MX6 dual core running at 800 MHz. The sensor also includes 1 GB of RAM and a 512 kB L2 cache, giving the standard variant enough local resources for image preprocessing without an external PC. Its global-shutter imager captures 1.3 MP images at up to 90 fps, which helps monitor fast conveyor movement without motion blur.

With a fixed viewing angle of 37°, the sensor can inspect small parts at close range while preserving edge definition across the field.
